Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon – Sunday 18th March 2018
You may have seen the weather forecast for Saturday night/Sunday so will be aware it’s going to be a chilly one at the event on Sunday. Currently only 1cm of snow is forecast to fall which should not impact the event. Please do, however, plan your journey and travel early!
Explore contingency bus routes in case train lines are disrupted or be aware of local parking options if you plan to drive. Please do not park on double yellow lines, you will be ticketed. For those taking Taxi or Uber, please use Hampton Court train station as your drop point.
Keep yourself warm pre-race and we will see you there!
If you are not on this ENTRY LIST, you will not have a race BIB or be allowed to run on Sunday 18th March. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have entered and paid, but cannot see your name on the list.
You have been allocated a wave which dictates your start time.
PLEASE CHECK HERE TO SEE WHAT WAVE YOU ARE IN, IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU REMAIN IN THE WAVE YOU HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED.
– Instead of a BIB Number, you BIB will show your name!
– If you haven’t received your race pack by Thursday 15th March post drop, please email email@example.com so that we can look into this for you.
The race does not finish where it starts. The start is on the main driveway of Hampton Court Palace, whereas the finish is located in the Hampton Court Palace Gardens, along with the event village. The event village will open at 7.15am. We recommend that you arrive early to give you plenty of time to drop your bag off and make your way to the start.
Getting to the Race
The post code for the venue is KT8 9AU, it’s the Palace and you can’t miss it!
Due to the current forecast, we are having to ensure that we plan for all situations.Unfortunately, due to the adverse conditions he grass field across the road from Hampton Court Palace (Hampton Court Palace Green)where we sometimes allow people to park is no longer an option.
There are numerous public car parks in the surrounding area, including Bushy Park and Hampton Court Station. Kingston and Hampton Wick train stations are within walking distance (30 minute walk) from the Palace (please check Google Maps and plan your walk).
If you are travelling to the race via public transport please remember to check your journey before you leave on TFL.
All stations appear to be running a full service on Sunday. The closest mainline station is Hampton Court which is a short walk over the bridge from the Palace. More details on how to get there can be found HERE.
Race Chip & Baggage Label
Your timing chip is in your race packet. Please do not lose this! Your BIB needs to be attached to the front of your t-shirt at all times during the race.
You will find instructions on the back of your chip for how to attach it to your shoe correctly (as below):
Your baggage label is attached to your BIB (you will see it has a number on it above your name). Simply tear this off, attach to your bag and hand in at the bag drop area under the correct section for your number.
PLEASE DO NOT LOSE OR FORGET YOUR CHIP – NO CHIP, NO TIME!!
What is in The Event Village?

Visiting the Palace
Spectators are able to gain free access to the gardens. If you wish to visit the Palace you can buy tickets to enter in advance HERE.
The course is on pavements, tow paths and grass. It is different to last years course, so if you ran last year please double check this map so you are aware of the update. We will be running inside Home Park for the final section of the course, which will be a unique experience for many, with the finish inside the Hampton Court Palace gardens.
There will be 3 water stations (just before 3 miles, just before 7 miles and just before 11 miles) on the course and water/refreshments at the finish, where you can collect your Henry Medal and Palace Half T-shirt.
Live results will be available on the day on our race website.
